Abstract

The performance of standard cells is important factor in VLSI circuit. Static CMOS logic is commonly used in the standard cells, however an effective use of pass transistor logic is known to enhance circuit performance with smaller area. However, the performance of pass transistor degrade in a low supply voltage. We evaluate XOR gates with different logic style. Results show Dual Pass Transistor Logic is the most suitable for low voltage circuit design, and it can reduce the area and the power consumption of a benchmark circuit by 24% and 35%, respectively, compared to the static CMOS in 0.6V operation.
